I’ve been very inspired by Demi Moore’s resurgence. She POPS on-screen. Why did we let her disappear?!?!?
Here’s DM talking about how she uses the challenges she’s faced in her career to fuel her art: “I try to look at things more from the perspective that everything is happening for us, not to us. And so whatever challenges that were occurring at the time, perhaps they were happening just so this moment could happen. And so it's not that I can look back in any way and hold it as a loss. I see it only as a gain.”
Okay, let’s write.
Today’s prompts were inspired by St. Elmo’s Fire, which absolutely DOES NOT hold up.
EXERCISE #1: “Jules, y'know, honey... this isn't real. You know what it is? It's St. Elmo's Fire. Electric flashes of light that appear in dark skies out of nowhere. Sailors would guide entire journeys by it, but the joke was on them... there was no fire. There wasn't even a St. Elmo. They made it up. They made it up because they thought they needed it to keep them going when times got tough, just like you're making up all of this. We're all going through this. It's our time at the edge.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write about one of your deepest beliefs. The truest thing you know.
FICTION PROMPT: If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where your protagonist tells another character about a belief they hold that helps them get through hard times. WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL ST. ELMO’S FIRE?
EXERCISE #2: “You cannot have the Pretenders' first album! That's mine. You can have all the Billy Joels. Except The Stranger.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Think about a piece of art that you feel a connection with. Any kind of art. How and why does it speak to you?
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where two of your characters FIGHT about a song or a movie or a painting (etc).
EXERCISE #3: “Ya wanna know what's great? Last night I woke up in the middle of the night to make myself a peanut butter and jelly sandwich... and ya know, it was my kitchen, it was my refrigerator, it was my apartment... and it was the BEST peanut butter and jelly sandwich that I have had in my entire life.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write about moments of joy you’ve experienced alone.
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where your protagonist is completely alone on a Friday night. How do they spend their time? Write out their actions and their thoughts. NO DIALOGUE.
EXERCISE #4: “I played bongos in this band and I fell in love with the lead singer. She sang We've Only Just Begun as sweet as Karen Carpenter.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write about a song that you associate with a person or a place or a specific time in your life.
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where your protagonist tells another character a memory connected with a song.
EXERCISE #5: “All this time I was afraid you’d find out I wasn’t fabulous.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write about your least AND YOUR MOST fabulous quality.
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a monologue where your protagonist confesses to something that makes them feel self-conscious.
EXERCISE #6: “You ran out on this relationship, you take the consequences.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write a RANT about an ex. Fucking DESTROY THEM. Tear them apart, spit them out.
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where your protagonist goes off on someone who has harmed them in some way.
EXERCISE #7: “We won’t even remember this tomorrow.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write about something you wish you could forget.
FICTION PROMPT:If you’re writing a narrative, write a scene where someone tells your protagonist a story about their past that your protagonist doesn’t remember – your protagonist isn’t sure if they should believe the memory or not.
EXERCISE #8: “I can’t remember who met who first or who fell in love with who first. All I can remember is the seven of us always together.”
JOURNALING PROMPT: Write an ode to one of your friends. What was your life like before they were in your life and how have they made your life better?
FICTION PROMPT: If you’re writing a narrative, freewrite everything you can about your protagonist’s friend circle.

Exercise 6:
“They were just stories, they no longer walk this plane, I don’t know what you saw all those years ago when their brother died but it surely wasn’t them it couldn’t have been. My father believed the crazy lies and I can’t lose you to them as well. The people you meet can't be East and Sebastian. It is impossible even the Quadgintinians have said time travel is impossible.” stated Sebastian the third.
“It isn’t possible now, just like the letters said the guardians told them they had a choice what time period to be in they chose to take advantage of the time they had before the worlds were aligned and time flowed correctly to create the myth of Atlantis and to begin the creation of it” Isabella fuming now, especially since her grandfather's death, her fathers disbelief and families refusal to believe East and Sebastian dispute them having plenty of proof let alone the knowledge of the family only they would know.
“One day you will know that these people have conned you! They can not be who they say they are, for if they are that means they left Vicente to be on his own, it means my name means nothing, I shouldn’t be named after a coward who left his family!” snarled Sebastian the third.
“The con is the family not recognizing them for who they are, ignoring Vicente and Junior all these years. They at least tried to reunite the family, for East and Sebastian the war was less than a year ago with their brother's death, and their own family was already showing what they thought they fought and stopped. We wonder why TEQ is less visible and Atlantis invisible to non magic folk but it shows even those with magic blood try to dispute them. We come from a long line of proud royals who started their journey on Earth due to prejudice, who were determined to work together to help shape the worlds. In the aftermath of one man's decision to choose love, have we forgotten this? Why?” stated Isabella.
Isabella fuming walks out of the home, she was an adult after all she didn’t have to stay. She grabbed her cell and called East,
