"Punisher" by Phoebe Bridgers (writing prompts!)
Every one of today's writing prompts was inspired by a different song from Phoebe Bridgers album Punisher (I'm obsessed).
Before we get to today's prompts, this is Phoebe Bridgers on her writing process:
“I like having nothing in front of me—so it’s all possibility. It’ll be writing in chunks, and if the next chunk isn’t very good then I’ll delete it and try to write something else instead of writing around it. I’ll have one thing to say and then by the time I’ve written a whole song—which sometimes is six months of chipping away at it every day—the little piece that I started with is the worst lyric in the song. I just had to trick myself into starting. Once it’s finished, and there are little ways to improve, I’ll have pages and pages of draft one and then draft two and then draft two next to draft three… then I can’t stop writing it. It’s almost like a weird brain bug where I already learned how to write words to this melody and rhythm and rhyme map; it was hard to start and now I can’t stop, and all my thoughts are getting filtered through it.”
Today’s prompts were all inspired by songs from Phoebe Bridgers’ album Punisher.
